The painter will notice every single flaw in his painting, just as we notice all the flaws of ourselves. However, like people looking at a painting, no one else sees it as flawed, but rather as a masterpiece, made all the more interesting by the brushstrokes that wouldn’t usually be as dark or the smudged pencil line. We are our own worst critic. It is important to remember that the things we see as flaws may look beautiful to another person.
