#205

You are subtracting y whose value is -8 so it should be 3 - (-8) + 2 = 3 + 8 + 2 = 13.

#206

I forgot how to solve this:
What is the solution of 7v-(6-2v) =12

#207

7v - 6 + 2v = 12
9v - 6 = 12
9v - 6 + 6 = 12 + 6
9v = 18
9v/9 = 18/9
v = 2

#208

Ooh okay that makes sense. I just forgot how to do it. #brainfart okay thanks!

#209

I’m blanking out lol i tried Pythagorean theorem but that didn’t work

#210

Are you trying to find x or…

#211

yeah pretty much

#212

Ew. I thought I had it and then. Poof. Gone.

#213

It’s fine~~
Hopefully I can ask someone before class starts (I have a test)

#214

Good luck!

#215

What am I missing?!

#217

Ty Pennington (TV host)
Ty Warner (Ty - maker of beanie babies)

#218

AC ^2 + CB^2 = AB^2
ie. x^2 + (x+17)^2 = 25^2
expand and simplify

x^2 + x^2 + 34x + 289 = 625
make equation = 0 . then divide whole equation by 2
therefore
x^2 + 17x -168 = 0
use quadratic equation to solve for x
you get x=7, -24

since x is a length it must be x>0
therefore
x=7
CHECK BY SUBSITUTION into original equation
and it works!

#219

I need help. Can somebody help me please.

#220

What do you need help with?

#222

THANK YOU!!!
